Frequently Asked Questions

How long do eyelash extensions last?

Lash extensions can last up to six weeks, however the average human will lose 1 to 7 lashes per day.  This is the natural lash cycle and lashes will replace themselves over a 60 – 90 day period. To keep your lashes looking lush we recommend to come in for in-fills every 2 – 3 weeks.

How often do I get in-fills?

As each person will lose lashes at a different pace, our recommended time frame for in-fills is every 2 – 3 weeks.  Most people will want to keep their lashes looking full so every 2 weeks is ideal.  Yes we also offer 4 weeks in-fills.

Can I wear mascara?

Yes and No.

First of all we don’t recommend using mascara on beautiful volume fans, as you will collapse the fans with the mascara and they end up stickling to one another and losing density.

If you are using mascara on either classic lashes or if you are due for your infill make sure you don’t use waterproof mascara! You won’t get that off your lashes and it will make it very hard for us to fill the lashes in.

If you are using mascara, make sure it is water based. The way to find out if a mascara is water based or oil based (waterproof mascara), put some on your finger and hold it under water, if it washes off with just water, its water based and safe to use, if you need soap to get it off your finger, its oil based.

If you do chose to wear mascara, we recommend using PONI Cosmetics White Knight Mascara. Which can be purchased on our in our salon.

Will extensions damage my natural lashes?

The biggest myth is that lash extensions ruin your own lashes. They do not. If the right length, thickness and the natural lashes have been properly separated, they are safe and do not ruin the health of your natural lashes. Be sure not to rub your eyes, tug or pull on the extensions because this can cause lash loss and even damage to your natural lashes.

Do I need a break from my extensions?

We use high quality eyelash extensions that are light in weight and flexible. Your lash tech will apply the right length and thickness of extension on your natural lashes so they do not affect the natural cycle. This means you will not need a break and can continue to come in for your in-fills.

As our natural lashes keep renewing themselves each cycle your natural lash can fall out with no restrictions. Therefore the new natural lashes can grow strong and healthy, whilst keeping your extensions.

If you ask for a certain look or thickness we may refuse to complete that look. This is due to the natural lash not being able to support the thickness or weight of the desired look.

If you have weak lashes, we can’t give you the full on strip lash look. Your lash health is very important to us and we want you to be able to wear extensions for a long time. We will customise the look for you, so that you keep having healthy natural lashes.

Do I need to clean my lashes?

That is an absolute yes!
Don’t be afraid to touch your lashes or avoid doing so when it comes to washing them, as it is so important to keep your lashes clean. If they don’t get washed regularly a build-up of natural oils, dead skin cells, make-up and dust can occur on the lash line.  Not only can oils break down the glue bond, but the build-up can also cause inflammation on the eye and weaken the hair follicle, which therefore weakens your natural lashes.
We recommend to at least rinse your lashes when you are in the shower and it is recommended to purchase our special lash cleanser in salon. This is a little purchase worth investing in to ensure you get the most out of your lashes. It is especially good for those heavier makeup wearers.

What is the difference between a half set and a full set?

A half set (40-50 lashes in each eye) has half amount of the top lashes lashed compared to the full set (80-100 lashes in each eye).  As the half set only has half amount the lashes, it will not last as long as a full set.

What is the difference between the sets we offer?

Classic
:

Classic eyelash extensions will be applied 1 extension to 1 natural lash and are slightly thicker than your natural lashes. This will extend your natural lashes and gives you a defined mascara look.

Hybrid:

Hybrid lashes are a mixture of 50/50 classic and volume lashes, which adds more darkness compared to just the classic set.

Volume:

Volume extensions are applied with very fine extensions (thinner than your natural lashes) and either 2,3,4 up to 8 lash extensions will be applied to one natural lash. We hand make and customise the volume fans to your natural lashes, to not overload them. The extensions will be evenly fanned out before applying to the natural lash, that’s why the application takes longer than other sets.

Mega volume:

this is a advanced volume technique where thousand of the finest lashes are used to create a black out look. It takes extra training and quality products to create this full yet light weight look. I will not damage your natural lashes, as we will customise the set to you.
